The Department is located within the Faculty of Medicine, on a hill overlooking the city of Napoli (Italy). Diagnostics is carried out within the "Dipartimento Assistenziale di Medicina di Laboratorio" (DAsMeLab). The Department hosts a pilot laboratory of the "Centro di Ingegneria Genetica" (CEINGE) and the interdepartmental library "Gaetano Quagliariello".
Research is currently focused on many research lines. The Department hosts the coordination Unit of the Consortium "Grasping Alzheimer" of the Vth Framework Programme of European Commission.
PhD program: "Dottorato di ricerca in Biochimica e Biologia cellulare e molecolare - XXVII Ciclo"
The Department is actively involved in the organization of the recently created degree in Biotechnology
Useful information about the specialty school program "Clinical Biochemistry" are available.
The department is supporting the EmaVeq project for quality control in hematology.
